Agroton Calbor is a compound fertilizer that contains a balanced concentration of calcium at 18% and boron at 2%, which can be applied to plants through foliar spraying at various physiological stages, such as after fruit set. It is well known that calcium plays a crucial role in several metabolic processes at the cellular and tissue levels in plants, including balancing turgor pressure in cell walls and tissues, in conjunction with boron, which enhances the vitality and activity of pollen grains during flowering.
Agroton Calbor contains calcium, an essential nutrient involved in the formation of calcium pectate, which provides tissues and cells with support, flexibility, and elasticity, making them stronger and less susceptible to piercing-sucking insects. Symptoms of calcium deficiency in plants include phenomena such as fruit splitting in citrus, which occurs when the peel cannot withstand internal pressures caused by increased juice sacs swelling after irrigation. This leads to pressure from the inside out, causing fruit cracking, known as "peel splitting," which significantly reduces market value. Other calcium deficiency symptoms include bitter pit in apples, characterized by the death and shrinkage of the terminal ends of apple fruits due to a lack of calcium pectate.
Common symptoms also include blossom end rot in zucchini or tip burn in tomatoes. In cereal crops like wheat and rice, farmers often face lodging, which leads to a loss of grains and a significant portion of the harvest due to the inability of the agricultural machinery to harvest and thresh properly, increasing costs for the farmer. One of the most critical symptoms of calcium deficiency is the increased fruit drop, whether due to physiological reasons or adverse climatic conditions that weaken the fruit-stem attachment area, causing fruit drop at the separation zone and leading to significant crop losses. To mitigate and prevent this, it is recommended to support plants and fruit trees with successive doses of calcium sprays as explained later.
Agroton Calbor is a compound fertilizer carefully manufactured with global expertise from high-quality raw materials, fully soluble in water at 100%, and free from impurities, chlorine, or harmful heavy metals. Agroton Calbor is also fortified with certain additives that cause noticeable and substantial changes to fruit quality and yield. These effects are visible shortly after spraying, with results manifesting rapidly on treated plants or trees, especially in the early stages of plant growth. Given that calcium is a slow-moving or immobile nutrient within plants, it is necessary to supplement plants with repeated foliar sprays in short intervals to prevent deficiency symptoms or damage as previously explained.
Agroton Calbor is easy and suitable for application through foliar spraying for all field crops, including cereals such as wheat, corn, and rice; tuber crops like sugar beet, taro, and sweet potatoes; leguminous crops such as peanuts, broad beans, peas, and beans; onions and garlic; and sunflower. It is also suitable for all vegetable crops, including solanaceous crops like tomatoes, potatoes, eggplants, and peppers; cucurbits such as cucumber, zucchini, watermelon, and cantaloupe; strawberries; and fruit trees, including pome fruits like apples and pears, stone fruits such as peaches, apricots, and plums, as well as grapes, bananas, citrus, olives, mangoes, avocados, and others.
Application Rates and Usage
Foliar spraying: Used as a preventive measure before deficiency symptoms appear on fruits, which are difficult to correct afterward, or at the early signs of such symptoms. Generally, it is applied at a rate of 1 liter per acre for vegetable or field crops to reduce lodging in wheat and rice. In the case of fruit trees, it is recommended to apply two successive sprays one month apart, with the first being preparatory right after fruit set and the second about a month later at a rate of 150 ml per 100 liters of water. This helps to completely remedy deficiency symptoms without causing any setbacks to the plant's physiological processes.
